Resource Room

A resource room is a special education classroom where students with learning differences or special needs receive individualized or small group instruction for part of the school day. It provides extra academic and emotional support outside the general classroom setting- helping students strengthen skills, build confidence and work towards their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.

Students usually attend the resource room for a set period of 30 -60 mins a few times a weak while spending the rest of their day in the general classroom. Resource room activities are designed to support students who need additional help-often those with learning disabilities, attention difficulties or who need enrichment or remediation outside the general classroom. Activities depend on each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals, grade level and subject areas. Some of the resource room activities are reading and language activities , cognitive and executive functioning activities, social and communication skills , fine motor activities. APS Bathinda has three resource rooms one in CAPPS 3, one in extension wing and one in main building.
